Dominique Lemay

Founder-Chairman Emeritus

Dominique is a social worker by profession and has been in the advocacy and child developmental work since 1987 in the Philippines.

Laurent Goirand


Head of Digital for an advertising agency GroupM, Laurent is a former volunteer who helped found the Magellan Learning Center in 2001 which provides supplementary tutoring to the children in its care. Kuya Lo (as he is fondly known) joined Virlanie as part of the board in 2010.

Susan Grace Rivera

Vice President

Susan is an established Human Capital Consultant and a fulfilled W.E.L.L. Coach whose depth and breadth of knowledge in areas of people management and organizational development provides Virlanie the guidance it needs as it looks to the future.


Victor Jose Africa


This technopreneur and digital evangelist believes democratizing technology and giving digital access to all is key to lessening inequalities and the lack of education among Filipinos. VJ is currently the Managing Director of Eurekloud Corporation. 


Josephine Bonifacio


Being a Certified Public Accountant and former Chief Finance Officer at GroupM, Jo Bonifacio has gained experience in heading financial strategy and direction of the company. As Virlanie’s Treasurer for 4 years, she brings her expertise in finance and audit by providing the Finance Department with meaningful advice on budgeting, financial reporting, and operations since 2015. 

Lara Parpan

This former magazine editor and communications professional is proud to have known Virlanie since 1994, when she profiled Dominique Lemay for an article as a foreign correspondent with Agence France-Presse. She also worked as a volunteer tutor with the Magellan Learning Center.

Dr. Karen L. Tamayo

Executive Vice President for International and External Affairs at the University of Perpetual Help. This active Rotarian is involved in advocacies that aim to give help to those who need it the most.

Virlanie Foundation

Virlanie Foundation is a private, non-profit organization reaching out to street children in the Philippines. Virlanie cares for children in need of special protection—those who are abandoned, abused, exploited, neglected, orphaned, and among the poorest of the poor.
